I would have rated my stay higher, but my traveling companion and I experienced some very uneven guest service here. Upon our arrival, we were greeted with a smile and welcome from the woman at the front desk. In a later encounter at the front desk with a different staff member, we felt like we were an interruption or annoyance to her. Most discouraging, however, was the way my companion was treated by a security guard one evening. He went to the first floor to look for some paper plates and utensils. The breakfast serving area doors were open, so he went in to look for them. The security guard approached him not with “How can I help you?” but in an aggressive manner as if he were an outside intruder. It wasn’t a very cool encounter.
We stayed at this Hampton Inn in March 2023, shortly after it opened. It’s a beautiful facility. We encountered friendly and happy staff across the board. Don’t let service standards slip as the years go by.
