Breakfast was delicious l but dinner was just ok only. However, we were too full to try the sake and rice crackers. The hand made course of lucky chain is interesting. Average experience is fantastic, especially the view, spring and the sky was full of the stars yesterday. One more thing is the bed is extraordinary comfortable.

-the taste of every course was AWFUL. (I have no idea whether the ones made those dishes EVER tasted before serving -NO complimentary stilled water even paying more than 800 dollars. (So shocked by this terrible service) -the room size and quality is NOT worth more than 800 dollars. It’s just a normal business hotel, not luxury one -something(dust?) was floating in the outdoor bath tub

Best resort ever with amazing staff

It was my first time at a Hoshio Resort and i was so amazed and I can't give you enough stars! Resort itself was super zen and amazing. It was perfect place to relax and enjoy Japanese bath, food, and massage. Staff was also beyond the moon! We had to put on snowchains on our way out because it was snowing and we were struggling when staff (Kuroiwa) came out and helped us with the hard work. Thank you so much again.

Miss many key aspects of a traditional ryokan

Lack of many amenities you would expect from a ryokan. The common area is rather small as well. We stayed two nights and the western breakfast they served were completely identical which was disappointing. Public bath is lackluster compared to many ryokan we had stayed.
