My whole stay at Bridgewood Manor should have commanded a first rate, five star. The reception staff were excellent, smiling and welcoming. Similarly, the cleaner was excellent - extremely pleasant, courteous, and thorough. My room was beautifully presented. Regrettably, I'm unable to award the deserved five star due to the rather unpleasant manner and attitude of a young lady serving at the bar. Not a single incident but service with a definite attitude. Most strange! After a hard day I had a fancy for a drink and to sit for a while in one of the rather pleasant lounge areas. I did report this to the receptionist when I was checking out. Again she was extremely courteous and apologised. I was told the matter would be fed back to the appropriate manager. I definitely got the impression that she was genuinely surprised at my comments. It is disappointing not to award the five stars, for obvious reasons. I would, however, definitely choose to stay at the Bridgewood Manor another time, but may perhaps pop to the store next door to get a ready mixed gin and tonic.
