Séjour décevant

Le séjour au Catalonia playa maroma s’est globalement bien passé. Par contre on est loin des 5 étoiles annoncés. L’hôtel et les infrastructures sont vieillottes. Heureusement nous avions réservé une chambre privilège qui venait être rénovée et qui nous donnait l’accès à un restaurant où nous avons très bien mangé sinon aucune place de disponible dans les différents restaurants sur une période de 5 jours. De plus si vous cherchez un endroit où vous relaxer et Chiller autour de la piscine, ce n’est pas la peine : les transats sont réservés des 8h du mat et la musique bat son plein avec les animations qui se succèdent .. La plage est par contre magnifique et le Complexe dans la jungle avec une faunw et flore importante.. Autre point non negligeable : il n’y a pas d’ascenseurs et cela n’était pas précisé lors de la réservation.. personne ne nous a aidé pour descendre les valises à notre départ alors que nous avions demandé la veille à la réception.. Première et dernière fois pour nous au Catalonia maroma Il y a d’autres resort à Playa qui sont bcp mieux

This resort is truly 10/10. The food options are amazing, the rooms are very clean and well maintained, the beach is breathtaking, beach service is quick and everyone is so kind and always smiling. I would absolutely stay here again. The resort does have one tiny thing I want to point out that wasn’t necessarily an issue for me but might be for other travelers. there are domestic animals on the property; monkeys and other mammals, and some reptiles including a python and other varieties of snakes that do roam free. I only point this out in the event that someone is considering this resort but has a phobia of snakes.

Every employee we came into contact with at this resort was an absolute joy! The resort is a beautiful natural habitat for animals. It was so much fun to see the different animals. The room was beautiful and the food was fabulous. The maids came everyday and stocked our fridge with beer and Pepsi products. It was so easy to get an excursion booked and the concierge had a great knowledge of them all. Everything was extremely clean and beautifully managed. The beach area is large and very enjoyable. Do be aware you have the chance of seaweed during the summer months. It didn’t put one minute’s damper on the fun and enjoyment we had. I would love to come back!

Buena opción precio/ calidad

Nos alojamos en una suite privilege que estaba bastante bien; a destacar el servicio de la mayoría de personas y la comida vs otros all inclusive. En cuanto a los contras, podrían mejorar el sistema de reserva de los restaurantes, apenas llegamos intentamos hace reserva para las noches que íbamos a estar y solo logramos una reserva, sin embargo todas las noches fuimos a los restaurantes (tempranos) y los host muy amables nos abrieron espacio, además que nunca vimos todas las mesas llenas realmente. Esa primera noche fui a la oficina de guest service a ver si algo se podía hacer para conseguir reservas y aunque tomaron todos mis datos y prometieron ayudar, ni siquiera me contactaron de vuelta… muy decepcionante esto cuando yo mismo conseguí espacio las siguientes noches. El otro tema que tampoco me gustó y no me deja una buena impresión es que escribí 3 veces al hotel pidiendo que la habitación fuera en el primer piso pues íbamos con un bebé y no había ascensor para subir el coche, sin embargo nunca me respondieron… cuando llegué al check in volví a pedir y me comentaron que las suite privilege solo estaban en el 3 piso. Me parece que deberían ser transparentes con la información, si yo decido mantener o no la reserva de la suite será mi decisión pero me sentí un poco engañado y mal atendido que no me quisieran responder con la ubicación real de la suite sino solo hasta que llegue. En general igual la experiencia fue buena y disfrutamos nuestros días allá.

Everyone was so friendly and helpful!! The grounds were beautifully manicured. Unfortunately, there was a huge influx of red sargassum (seaweed) that they could do nothing about, but they worked sun up to sundown raking it up and disposing of it. The staff was very accommodating. The buffet was really good with lots of choices. The dinner restaurants were top notch. The snack bars and food trucks, and many drink bars were all exceptional. The pools were well maintained and clean. Lots of guest services were available as well. The wildlife at the resort was probably my favorite part!! Monkeys, coaties, birds, iguanas, and even a boa constrictor were all enjoyed! We can’t wait to return!

5/5 – A Heartfelt and Memorable Stay Catalonia Playa Maroma – All Inclusive is a warm and welcoming resort. While it may be smaller in scale compared to some others, the genuine hospitality of the staff makes it stand out in the best way. During our visit, we met another family who was staying for the fifth time—that says a lot about the consistent quality of service and experience. The Kids Club team was a true highlight. They showed real care and kept the children engaged and active in the most thoughtful way. It gave us peace of mind and made the trip even more enjoyable for our entire family. All around, a wonderful and heartfelt experience. We would absolutely return. Thank you!

the beach was beautiful but the seagrass was horrible. It is not the properties fault and they were trying their best to clean it up. the hotel was very clean and the staff was great, always smiling. the downfall is all the walking! everything is far to walk and no golf carts or other transportation to help.
