Fire alarm sounded off so my wife and daughter (taking a shower at the time) evacuated through the stairway and side door. After being left in the parking lot with a few other guests for a while, my wife entered the lobby to find the hotel clerk at the front desk like nothing happened. When my wife asked why they never notified everyone of the false alarm the hotel clerk’s response was that most people were in the lobby and it didn’t make sense to call everyone. The fire alarm went off twice more that day while my family and I tried to get ready for my Aggie Ring Day. The room floor was dirty and caulking was loose and hanging front several joints in the concrete ceiling. I booked for two nights and asked to cancel my second night, willing to pay for the first, which I thought was fair. The hotel clerk blamed Expedia, saying her hands were tied. I called hotels.com and the representative called the hotel for me and the hotel declined the cancellation saying the manager was the only one who could approve the cancellation. The call was transferred to the manager and guess what… voicemail! The hotel staff did nothing so we just left and lost the $200 for the night. I urge anyone looking to stay in College Station to look elsewhere. Also just be warned, there is nothing related to Texas A&M on this property except for a painted over silhouette of Mrs Rev. while they still advertise an Aggie theme.

Our stay was fine. Room never felt like it got cool. No one slept very well. There are quite a few unfinished edges in their “renovation”. They also took away the free breakfast. Not a deal breaker but disappointing.

The staff were very courteous and professional. Check in and out was easy. Room was clean, bed and pillows were comfortable, and had ample amenities. I pre-paid for two breakfasts which were exceptional! They were well prepared with ample portions. And the service was excellent as well! There was ample parking on the side. The pool and area was nice and clean. The side door was not locked or secured, anyone could just walk in. Hopefully they’ll fix it soon.

IHG Ruined This Once Cool Hotel

We were not happy with the loss of the breakfast buffet. That was a huge reason for us coming to this hotel for football weekends. We will be looking at other hotels from here on out. The pillows are way too big and hurt my neck. The corporate washing of this hotel has ruined the quaintness. I think the ridiculous addition of the shelf over the AC is a waste of effort.

The a/c in the hall outside our room was not working so the hall way was super muggy and I feel like our room a/c struggled and there was no way to adjust it. There was a major crack in the window in the hallway just outside our room as well. Construction seemed to be going on everywhere with paint buckets, light fixtures etc. sitting around everywhere. On our way back from midnight yell (which is at least a mile and a half walk) the security was completely disconnected on an exterior door allowing anyone to come in that wanted. The exterior looks nice but it’s hard to find the front door and it really needs a lot more work!

Was a very unpleasant stay. Shower had minuscule water pressure (like a drip), killed a roach, got two flat tires in the parking lot, the carpet was nasty and sticky, and water leaking in 3rd floor entry way and floor was extremely slick, hot, etc. The staff was very friendly and provided a quick check in process.
