Cant say enough good things about this hotel! The walls in the public areas and the rooms are beautifully decorated with hand-painted details. Each floor is themed after a different French artist, and decorated in their signature art/style. The former restaurant in the basement, which is now the breakfast space, has medieval French/Joan of Arc themed decor.
My room was very quiet and comfortable, and I barely heard any street noise despite the hotel being located in a very busy area near Union Square.
Breakfast was delicious, and definitely a step above a basic continental breakfast.
The price was amazingly reasonable, especially for such a nice place in such a central location.
There is also a beautiful old original elevator, which is a fun experience all by itself. It reminded me of several European hotels I’ve stayed in.
I’ll definitely be staying here the next time I visit San Francisco!
