The hotel reminded me of a trap house motel from back home. There were broke down cars on jacks in the parking lot. The pool has been down for months. With no indication on the website that it was down. Would have never booked it if I would have know that. Over all it was quiet through the night. One of the outlets look sketchy to use. There was mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. No vent fan. The sink didn’t have a drain plug. And when we ran the water in the sink. The smell that came out of it was horrible. The vent that was in the wall at the top of the ceiling had gum in it. How does that even happen. Housekeeping never came for the second day to give us clean towels. But I guess you get what you pay for. If it would have been just myself and my spouse I wouldn’t have cared. But it was my daughter and I. I really didn’t feel safe. Since the outside lock didn’t work. Anyone had free access to just walk in the hotel from the backside. If you have kids. Stay somewhere else.

Room was pretty run down. Chunk of carpet cut out, sink badly stained and no drain stopper, chair covered in pet hair, rock hard pillows, pool and hot tub weren’t operating, ceiling leaking in hallway. Staff was friendly.

The staff was not very friendly and I talked to the same front desk worker multiple times and every time was the same. Our room was in the back hallway and there are not signs showing there is more rooms at the end of either hallway. The pool was closed which was a bummer but not a deal breaker. And there was an altercation where multiple cops showed up. I have stayed many times but this one was the worst of my experiences here.

The rooms are in rough shape. Our first room had such a horrific chemical smell in it we had to be moved. The pool is closed , that was the only reason we booked to stay here. We wouldn’t stay here again.

This property was gross they had roaches they put me in a crappyy part of the hotel and I paid for a king suite I got a queen crapt hole there was stuff hanging off the smoke alarm it was just bad I'll never be returning here again I don't think anyone should

We stayed one night at The Dakota in Sioux Falls as a stopover before heading to Chicago, and overall it was a pleasant experience. The facilities were clean and comfortable, and the room was spacious — exactly what you need after a long day on the road. The lady at reception was exceptionally kind and welcoming, which we truly appreciated. Check-in did feel noticeably longer than at other places we’ve stayed during our trip even though the guest checking in in front of us was mostly done, but the staff remained courteous throughout and was simply filling all the paper work needed to give us our keys. Our biggest disappointment was that the swimming pool was unavailable, despite our confirmation email received that day highlighting the pool hours of operation. After a seven-hour drive, a swim would have been perfect and we were looking forward to it. The receptionist saw our devasted faces when she shared that the pool was closed and actually offered compensation, but unfortunately, since we had booked through Expedia, she couldn’t process it. Talk about disappointment!! Breakfast was standard for this type of stay - simple but sufficient. The hotel is also conveniently located close to charming downtown Sioux Falls, which pleasantly surprised us with great dining options, a beautiful park, and interesting historical sites. Despite the hiccup with the pool, we’d still say it was a good stay overall, and the friendly service made a difference.

The employees arguing, outside appears empty, on checkout morning we were loading car at 9am and employee was already in our room nosing around we wasn't even done loading yet. She went into another room and people were still there taking showers. Check out wasn't until 11am. Breakfast was very limited. Room was clean

The location and comfort was fine. However, the place needed a clean-up in general. Mold in a few places, pool down for remodeling and we weren't informed. Breakfast was ok, plus an interior garden to walk and enjoy.

Pool is closed, breakfast bar was hardly edible. And the room looked nothing like its picture. Was very dark and gloomy. My kitchenette consisted of a kureg on top of a microwave on top of a mini fridge. The electrical outlet by the bed had an electrical adapter on it, and the outlet itself wasnt even attached to the wall. I think the person before me spilt something on the floor cause there was a wet spot. The hotel needs a complete renovation is the best I can say.and sound dampening. I heard every noise my neighbors made. The staff were the 1 good part of this stay. They were very friendly.

My room the carpet felt like it was wet the toilet wouldn’t flush went to the front desk no one was there as the toilet stopped working as I was leaving. Trash in bags in the hall way smelled of cigarette smoke and weed in the hallway burn holes in the blankets. And when I arrived there was a child just running around not sure who he belonged to
