Great location and beautiful view in front of the pier. Bathroom was the best thing in the room, can tell that it has been renovated. Much room for improvement on housekeeping and the rest of the room, such as windows and cleaniness of appliances like hairdryer and kettle. Fair deal in terms of what we paid. At the same time, I can understand the mixed reviews.

A grand seaside hotel with efficient service, popular bar and restaurant. Though facilities may be old e.g the lifts, yet they are well maintained. Entrance hall and lounge galleries are huge, relaxing, and comfortable.

Maybe a coat of paint!

We booked this hotel because the rates had gone up considerably in the usual hotel we book. We have stayed in this hotel before, as hotels go it is clean and staff are friendly. The room was ok but the bed/mattress was far too soft and springy. The breakfast was fine with a good assortment of food.

Affordable stay

Room was tired, floors uneven & super squeaky & shower left a lot to be desired but clean & comfortable & affordable for an overnight visit (sea view made up for room condition). Reception staff very polite but LOUIS, front of house at breakfast, was an absolute credit to the hotel considering breakfast was very busy and they appeared to be very understaffed.

Nice authentic hotel over looking the see

Staff very friendly and a good size room at a really good price. Property does need freshening up but you’ve got to look past that due to the age of the building. Good history behind it and nicely stocked little bar. Great location over looking the beach and the pier only a minute away. Would certainly revisit

Sehr dreckig und teilweise unfreundliches Personal

Negativ: - Sehr dreckiges Zimmer und Bad. So waren z.B. die Fenster voller fertiger Faustabdrücke, im Bad braune Spritzer an den Wänden, ein ca. 5mm breiter Riss in der Klobrille (perfekt für Bakterien-Ansammlung). War schon bei meinem letzen Aufenthalt vor zwei Jahren so, scheint also ein permanentes Problem zu sein. - Bad sehr rudimentär und ohne jegliche Ablagen – auch in den laut Inserat „renovierten“ Zimmern. - Eine Rezeptionsangestellte ist enorm harsch und unfreundlich. Schnauzt z.B. als Antwort auf freundliche (und berechtigte) Fragen etwas zurück und läuft noch während der Konversation weg, zeigt also keinerlei Interesse an den Gästen. Die ca. 50 jährige Angestellte hingegen, war enorm freundlich! - Kein Kühlschrank im Zimmer Positiv: - Lage - Aussicht aus „Sea View“-Zimmern - Das Gebäude hat Charme (ist aber wie oben aufgeführt unzureichend geputzt und unterhalten) - Kaffeemaschine (zumindest in „Sea View“-Zimmern) - Bügeleisen (dito)

Our experience.

Everything and everyone was amazing. So kind and respectful. NOTHING was to much trouble A few shops open but most closed. Lot's of street renovation going on so most thing's borded up. Temporary pedestrian crossing so difficult to cross the road. The hotel didn't have street appeal as it badly wanted painting. As you will see from the photo the windows need attention as frames rotted and sash windows wouldn't open full as the room was hot with not enough ventilation APART from that all good. Own big car park BUT was charged £6 per day which in my opinion should be free.

Great location, bad hotel

Hotel located was excellent, hotel was very dated, rooms need a good bit of TLC ,everywhere needed painting and decorating, bad smell in corridor,every morning would hesr so humming noise through walls about 6am,parking was a bonus but overall would not return.

Burlington Hotel - Poor

The front desk staff were wonderful and very accommodating. However, the hotel itself requires significant renovations and upgrades. Housekeeping had also done a very poor job in cleaning the room before our arrival. Overall, not a very pleasant stay.

Lovely location but rooms could be cleaner

Lovely location right on the seafront. Room was a good size and had everything we needed, staff were pleasant and friendly. However decor is dated and the room could have been cleaner and this let it down.
