We had a wonderful stay….we were very fortunate to have been given an upgrade. The room was beautifully decorated, with a lovely stand alone bath. We really enjoyed visiting the spa, and the grounds were so pretty. The staff were kind and helpful. We always love visiting here! Thank you.

The hotel is in a great location and approach is lovely. Spa was well appointed. I accept it is an old building but it is in need to repair and updating. Carpets worn, lift out of order and no chance for disabled access to our room without walking up 3 flights of stairs. The presentation and quality of food in the evening was exceptional, however the service was extremely slow. Breakfast was speedier, however the order was delivered wrong and the food was obviously pre-cooked as it was dry and touch. Shame.

Areas of the hotel looked tired. Breakfast service somewhat chaotic, and surprised to be told what time we were having breakfast (0830 on Sunday!). Plates were cold, so dinner on Friday night and breakfast Sat/Sun were cold. The tuna starter wasn't particularly fresh. Staff were helpful throughout; but areas seemed to lack customer focus - stood for several minutes at the Spa reception whilst 3 staff continued their conversation and didn't even acknowledge us. The treatments (which were excellent) started several minutes late but annoyingly finished promptly.

Restaurant staff , brilliant. Hotel brilliant , beautiful and unique . Excellent courtyard bedroom , ground floor and excellent parking for blue badge guests . Reception staff were ok , but could be more welcoming and more interested in their front of house role . More training maybe .? We had a great time .

Very happy staycation

Very lovely stay to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. It’s my second time being here. They kindly upgraded our room and the service from front desk to spa and breakfast is all to a very high standard. Polite, warm and efficient even at busy hours. We very much enjoyed our stay, the grounds and the view are breathtaking. I liked that we had a four poster bed and that the furnishings around the hotel were old in style. Everything was clean and tidy. We especially enjoyed the spa facilities. The only complaint I have was that our neighbours kept banging their door shut throughout the night, obviously this is not anything the the staff would be able to have changed but very disruptive for our one night stay. Breakfast didn’t seem to run that smoothly. We asked for toast that came out after our other breakfast order had been finished and taken away. However it was a very nice breakfast and the toast was worth waiting for.

Lovely country house hotel set in the Thames valley and overlooking the river Thames from the surrounding hills. Nice walks around the gardens. Excellent food in the restaurant and a great full English breakfast. Room was well presented with large bathroom, shower over bath. We had a room with a separate sitting area which had great views out over the valley and river. Wi-Fi, etc worked well, two TV’s one in each room. Did not use the large pool or Spa.
