Our stay at Bakubung was absolutely wonderful and truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and kindness by an incredibly attentive and professional staff who made us feel at home throughout our entire stay. The hotel is beautifully maintained, very clean, and extremely well cared for: from the rooms to all the common areas. Everything was spotless and very comfortable. The food was also excellent, with great variety and quality. One of the highlights of our stay was, of course, the safaris. The guides were fantastic: knowledgeable, passionate, and clearly dedicated to making the experience special for every guest. We had incredible sightings, including leopards, lions, giraffes, zebras, impalas, rhinos and large herds of elephants with babies, which made the experience even more magical. We would also like to especially thank Donald at reception for his kindness and helpfulness, and the amazing safari guides Masechaba, Jafari, and Valbert, who made our game drives truly unforgettable. The hotel’s location, very close to the Pilanesberg National Park gate, makes everything even more convenient and allows you to fully enjoy the safari experience. Overall, it was an incredible stay and we would highly recommend Bakubung to anyone visiting Pilanesberg. We would love to come back one day!

The area is wonderful, the game drives were the highlight of our trip, we saw different animals on each ride. The lodge was good too, the staff was friendly, food was ok, it was a bit noisy to be in a room by the pool but there was no option to select the room location on Expedia. Inside it was a bit dated and there were bugs (but it is in the wilderness so hard to keep them out). There were elephants coming almost to the restaurant which was amazing to see them right there. The entire idea to put this lodge at edge of the park is brilliant, it was a great experience overall
