We had an overnight stay at the hotel, where we were offered a free room upgrade upon check-in. Naturally, we accepted, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a wheelchair-accessible room – something we were not informed about beforehand.
The room was by no means cozy or pleasant to spend time in. For example, there was no shower curtain in the bathroom, which made it impractical to take a shower, and the interior was clearly adapted for accessibility needs. Of course, it is perfectly fine that the hotel has such rooms, but when a guest is assigned one as an “upgrade,” they should always be informed.
When we pointed out our dissatisfaction at check-out, the response was simply that we should have been told. The problem is that we weren’t – and that left us with a very poor impression of the service level.
Overall, it was an unsatisfactory experience that unfortunately had a significant negative impact on our stay.
Another major disappointment during our stay was the hygiene. We found the guest restrooms at the hotel to be very unhygienic. At a hotel of this caliber, guests should be able to expect a much higher standard of cleanliness and hygiene.
