The room was bigger and more updated than the photo online. The bathroom was huge as far as hotel bathrooms go. Plenty of outlets for all your electronics. Parking was not a problem even though they do allow the public to park in their lots for a fee. Hotel is on the edge of the square and conveniently located in walking distance of many shops and restaurants. UNG is right next door as well. Would stay there again and recommend to others.

Cute, small, super clean, and perfectly cozy and adorable hotel. The rooms are basic and modern—nothing fancy, but comfortable. Staff were friendly, and we loved that everything was within walking distance on the main street. However, the restaurant downstairs is not worth it. We were a party of four and paid $113. I had one chicken breast, my husband had one chicken breast, my oldest son had three drumsticks, and my youngest had one thigh. We were still hungry afterward and had to go get pizza. They also served pot roast, but again, we all received the smallest portions imaginable. The mac and cheese tasted like boxed mac and cheese, and the mashed potatoes were just okay. Nothing tasted homemade. Will never eat here again.

We were thrilled with our stay at the Smith House. It's historical character really appealed to us. It was extra clean, staff members were so friendly and courteous, several complimentary items were provided, and the food in the restaurant was wonderful. It had complimentary parking and it is just a short distance from the square in town. Less than 5-minute walk. We could not have asked for anything better. We highly recommend it.

The front desk attendant was very nice and she let my husband and I check in about 30 minutes early. Room was clean, air conditioner worked very well, and the bed was very comfortable. We would stay here again. Very nice parking accommodations.

GREATLY DISSAPPOINTED - Reservation was for a Villa with "City View." Having stayed here multiple time in the past we knew this is what we wanted - a "City View" which has always meant one of the villas with a balcony overlooking the town square. However, when we checked in, we were placed on the backside of the building facing away from the town square and toward trees and the college. When asked about our placement and that we were supposed to have a "City View" villa, we were told that all of the villas had a city view since they all faced the city limits of Dahlonega. Then when asked how to make sure we get a villa facing the town square next time when booking, we were told, "Don't book thru Expedia (i.e. Hotels.com), but just call the Smith House." Parking was easy. HVAC worked well.
