Cleaners were working on the room more than 45 minutes after stated arrival time (not an early check-in). Interior hallways and stairs were dirty and there was a general state of disrepair in the unit/building. Most significantly, the room had no operable windows, which is a hazard both for egress and ventilation. The interior of the unit had shelves that were falling off the wall, electrical plugs that didn’t work, and sections of drywall that needed significant repair. The rooftop area was a much needed space to get fresh air, but the lock to the door was half removed and the advertised fire pit had no attached propane tank.
It is clear the owner either has not been to the property recently and has a negligent manager, or is predatory and knowingly renting a unit that is unsafe for both short and long term occupancy.
