The one star is only due to the good shower head and plentiful hot water. Aside from that, this place is a disaster: the room smelled, the mattress and pillows were lumpy, all the metal fixtures in the room were pitted, the bathtub was stained, cabinets were missing door or doorknobs, the lampshades were stained as well as the bathtub. The crowning jewel showed up this morning in the form of an actual roach in the bathroom sink. I cannot un-recommend this place enough.

The new room they gave me for my second night (because the first one was horrific) was ALMOST just as bad. This one didn’t come with a cockroach but it came with flies. Not to mention that I couldn’t shower because there was no hot water. Call the front desk you say, I couldn’t because there was no phone in my room. Then I attempted to call the hotel nine times and no one answered.

The room was cozy, but the staff here was exceptional! I had some crazy travel stuff come up, and I called the front desk, and they moved my stay for free. Then, once I got there, the front desk staff was wonderful! I can't even describe with accuracy how kind she was! I got in at 7 AM the morning after I was supposed to check in, so there was a problem in the system checking me in, so she took my luggage so I wouldn't have to carry it, offered me breakfast, told me I could wait in the lobby, or go explore Florida. When I came back, she had the room ready for me. The breakfast ladies are so kind! And they also didn't charge me for the night that I missed because of my flight

The room smelt like mildew, there is water damage to the celling and looks like it was pealing off and was hanging down. the property is not well maintained, the security bar on the door was broken. I don't recommend staying here if you want to feel safe. the only place on the property that looked like it was in shape was the lobby, breakfast was very limited. waffle maker and a lot of breaded options and some fruit

The address on Hotels.com for this resort is wrong. The address that was shown and on my reservation sent me to a Quality Inn approximately 20 miles away. Their people took their time to help me find Maingate Resort and gave me correct address.

No frills, solid stay with a cranking cold AC and comfy bed. I have stayed here many times and sometimes there are glitches (Need a new batteries for the remote, phone not working, etc) but for the price, it is a good room in a great location and they do their best to accomodate you. I would reccomend it.

This stay was so much less than what I had anticipated. The old very dated rooms could be forgiveable if they were well maintained, they are not. The heat did not work in the unit, the phone was absent, the beds springs had given up as if another person was still present on the bed. The outlet cover broken and in pieces on the floor, the alarm clock melted. The fridge overflowing with frozen material and wouldnt stay closed. Surfaces rusted, shower had mold in corners, drain cover missing, but hair from past guests still in the drain. Needless to say not clean, not pet friendly, and we opted to skip breakfast and check out asap once we semi-slept on very deflated pillows
