Excellent hotel, but connected to monstrous resort

This place is fantastic - new, large rooms, extra features like washer and dryer and dishwasher. Only problem: The monstrous old resort next door made for mass tourism and endless tour buses hauling in thousands of guests. The two properties are connected but couldn’t be more different. They don’t fit to each other at all. The “town” itself has two convenience stores, that’s it. But the actual hotel itself is very, very nice. No restaurants in the hotel though, only next door at the resort (mass food).

Very nice hotel/condo. Convenient to the slopes, on site onsen was very clean and easy to access. Bit of a walk to dinning options, but nice in room pizza and a small cafe near by. Really really nice room. The Ski in only applies to west mountain which you have to take the nearest lift to use which is a REALLY short run designed for learning or beginnners. The Ski out does go to this lift… but if you’re not just learning it’s not somewhere you want to spend your day. If you’re planning on spending most time at East or Isola, it does take some time to get over there via walk and gondola (25 mins or so assuming no lines).

They have good onsite support. They gave us breakfast vouchers to be used on 4 rusutsu restaurant but they are far away from the building and always got a long queue. I hope they could arrange grab and go breakfast at the cafe from the same building.

Very nice rooms and great onsen, but there are many little inconvencies that take away from a good experience. Limited food options, and most of them were closed in mid-december. The ones that were open were not very good. No waters in the room. We had to ask for room cleanup service. This place isnt't really ski-in/out. Its a bit of a walk, but not too bad.

There isn’t enough to say about Vale Rusutsu. I was only there for two nights, and travelling solo, but it was great. The mountain is right outside the ski lockers. The breakfast, which is just a short walk through the Rusutsu Resort Hotel. The rooms are huge! Plenty of room for two to three people, let alone one. And of course the staff are wonderfully friendly. I hope to return here soon.

Awesome customer service

The customer service at the Vale is one of the best parts. We were especially impressed when the staff arranged a complimentary shuttle for us to our dinner spot due to the unavailability of taxis. Jo, the friendly and helpful driver from Germany, was a friendly driver and great conversationalist! The spa is one of the best that I've ever been to. Loved how it was also clean, and had long hours. Rooms are very modern + great views. Loved the in-unit washer/dryer. Highly recommend.
