We spent two nights at Hotel Kakola over the Mid-Summer break with the family. The hotel was unique and the atmosphere was welcoming, and the rooms were modern, clean, and well-designed. Our stay included breakfast and the hotel offers plenty of variety of options . The staff was friendly and helpful. We also had the chance to relax and enjoy the SPA with additional charge. Overall we have enjoyed our stay at Hotel Kakola and I recommend it to anyone looking for a special experience in Turku.

Excellent hotel in Turku

Hotel Kakola is wonderful and unique. Previous prison has been renovated with good taste and quality. The prison theme has been used in good manner in decoration. Room was like new and clean. Bed was excellent. Room was silent and even the A/C was very quiet but worked perfectly. The only thing which could be better is parking hall where the slots are rather narrow for modern cars.

What a unique place to stay! A boutique hotel built in the former County Prison atop the highest hill in Turku. It's such an interesting place. I should say first that I only awarded four stars because I happened to have a very small -- though nicely appointed and functional -- room. I'm sure I would have given the fifth star if a larger room had been available for me. (I should say that my bathroom was surprisingly large for a small room). The hilltop is so interesting. The best place to watch an 11 p.m. sunset in Turku in June. A short distance from the hotel is an even more imposing former prison -- now condos, restaurants, and a bar. It was an amazing area to explore, and although a little bit outside the center of town, the hilltop is actually closer to the castle, maritime museum, ferries, and riverwalk than places more central, all accessible via a fun, free funicular if you choose not to walk down the hill. Highly recommended.

Mycket fint och spännande hotell.Rummet var fräscht och fint gott om plats tycker vi och extra plus med badkar! Vi hade även balkong som gick att använda då det var lite mars sol även härlig utsikt från balkongen.Trevlig personal får man säga hjälpsam och allt kändes bra.. Liten promenacentrum. Spa var bra m olika pooler och en bar man kunde handla med smartness armband som registrerade köpen Lite trångt i damernas omklädningsrum men det betydde väl att det var väldigt populärt.Vi kommer boka samma hotell nästa gång vi är i Åbo!

Puitteiltaan hieno hotelli, siisti huone ja hyvä sänky. Kulmahuone oli talviaikaan sen verran viileä, että lämpötilaa joutui säätämään ja silti nukkumaan villasukat jalassa. Tv:n kaukosäädin puuttui huoneesta, joten sammutus onnistui mutta infot jäi lukematta. Aamupala oli monipuolinen ja hyvä, mutta viikonlopun puolella ruuhkainen (piti raivata itse pöytä käyttöön) ja arkipäivän aamupalan eri aikataulusta unohti respa mainita, joten menin paikalle kun tuotteita jo siivottiin pois. Kylpylä jäi testaamatta.
