The hotel cancelled my booking without my consent. When I arrived late around 10:30 at night, they told me they have sent me an email cancellation which I have not received. Not even Expedia was being notified and now asking me to review my stay?!?!?! They then told me the price I booked was too low so they cancelled my booking. I need to file an official complain.

Room was wonderful, with a balcony and windows on two walls. However, if overhead airplane noice really bothers you then perhaps staying so conveniently close to the airport isn’t for you. Hotel staff was wonderful.

This was a lovely stay at the Gate Boutique hotel. The room was very quiet with a comfortable bed, fresh clean bedding and impeccably clean bathroom. The property is in new condition. The property has a small kitchen with cook top and refrigerator and would be an ideal place to stay more than over night. The staff was so friendly and insisted that we take freshly made croissants and cappuccino with us since we had a long day of driving ahead. I would highly recommend this place to others!

Sehr nette Mitarbeiterin am Empfang. Minuspunkte: Das Zimmer hat keine Klimaanlage, keine Insektengitter vor den Fenstern, mein Raum war voller Insekten ( im Bad, im Teppich, an den Waenden), sehr wenig Schrankraum. Das Hotel sammelt Altglas direkt unterhalb meines Zimmers, sehr unschoen. Mir hat es nicht gefallen.

Although this was our first visit…we felt like we were long time guests of The Gate Hotel. A day prior to our arrival, we received an email from the hotel welcoming us and asking if we had any special requests. When we arrived at the hotel… Luigi greeted us as if we were long time friends. He made sure that our rooms were ready quickly, so that we could get some sleep after our overnight flight. The next morning Luigi greeted us as soon as we stepped off the stairs, made us all delicious cappuccino then treated us to an amazing breakfast (that was included with our room). This was our first day and first visit to Switzerland…and we felt most welcome…thanks to Luigi and his staff. I highly recommend staying at The Gate.

When we arrived at the property we were told they had no reservation for us (though we had printed documents with a reservation number and an email from the prior day from Expedia telling us about checking in). They told us that the room I had booked was not available for the price I had reserved it at. But because it was late in the evening they told us we could have two available rooms for free. But the next morning they told us we had to pay for the rooms, which I did. They then showed us what I think was a false document with the Expedia name on it, dated a few days prior to arrival, saying our reservation was canceled. We never received such a notice from Expedia, and in fact the day before Expedia had sent us the check-in hours, etc. Totally dishonest people. Plus the place was not all that nice anyhow. We then had to make another reservation at another hotel for our remaining two days in Zurich.
