The Duke of Cornwall is a historical hotel for Plymouth, and that is how it looks from the outside and inside. There is a large staircase to reach the upper floors, complete with ornamental furniture and toilets between floors. The is a lift too, but it was quite small. My room was on the fifth floor and I could see out towards the harbour and Drake's Island. It had everything you might expect: bed, tea things, TV, en suite shower room, place to hand clothes, but no safe. The bed was comfortable. The room was quite warm even with the radiator switched off, but there were opening windows. I didn't have any food or drink in the hotel, however all the interactions with reception were friendly and helpful. Location wise, it is a short walk away from the main shopping area and equally close to the sea.
