Dear Management Team,
I am writing to formally document and express my serious concerns regarding my recent stay at the Weston Hotel, Etobicoke. I selected this property based on its four-star rating and brand reputation, which reasonably led me to expect a high standard of cleanliness, safety, and professionalism. Unfortunately, my experience fell far below those expectations.
Although my room was fully prepaid, I was required to provide a $150 deposit at check-in. I stayed for approximately five hours only, as I was waiting for a 6:00 a.m. flight. While I understand that deposits may be standard practice, this requirement felt excessive given the prepaid nature of the reservation and the very short duration of my stay.
Despite the limited time I spent at the hotel, I encountered multiple serious issues that raise significant concerns about sanitation, housekeeping, and overall management.
Most troubling was witnessing a mouse on the 14th floor eating food that had been left out in a guest-accessible area. This was not a brief or uncertain sighting. The presence of rodents in guest areas indicates a serious lapse in pest control and sanitation practices and represents a clear health concern. This alone was extremely disturbing and unacceptable for a hotel of this standard.
In addition, towels were left throughout common areas and hallways, creating an impression of neglect and inadequate housekeeping oversight. The hallways also had strong, unpleasant odors that persisted.
