2/10 Poor

The staff was welcoming and the room was clean. Yet the room was also dingy, the floor sloped noticeably and the owner should really reinvest some of the takings to spruce up the rooms.

It was fine.

Clean and cheap.

Hotel was clean. My only complaint is our room smelled weird. Not so bad you couldn't stay there but just not fresh. Hotel rooms are small but cute. Our shower drained very slow so we had long delays in between showers. Room and hotel were fine and assuming for the price isn't a bad deal. No frills.

You get what you pay for! Didn't mind it being old but - outside door had up to a 3/4" gap letting in cold air, no extra blankets or pillows, bathroom floor had a big hole by the toilet, sliding door to bathroom didn't work. Hot & cold water were backwards, no coffee in lobby as promised, poor lighting. Definitely wouldn't recommend.

Only for sleeping

This place is only good for sleeping and showering… If you get good water pressure that is. we only booked it because it was one of the cheaper hotels around the area of Acadia. The sheets had old blood stains, the towels had bleach stains, the inside of the hotel was from the 70s. The staff was very nice, but they clearly needed help managing two hotels at the same time.

This hotel was completely adequate. It is old and dated but fully functional. If you are looking for fancy, look elsewhere but if you need a room with a comfortable bed for the night. This works.

Was ok

Lot of character but very old and worn. Was very clean though and staff was pleasant. Great thing is price was half or third of other properties in area.

Clean, quiet, parking, good price for the area. The staff I did engage with were very friendly and helpful. Dislikes were no amenities, had to drive from site to get coffee and the lighting in the room was weirdly placed.

Only in an emergency

The room was dry and relatively clean. The floor was slanted, bed was very uncomfortable and the sheet and blanket were tissue thin. There was a huge gap between the door and the jam that let in light, air and noise. There was an old heater on the wall that would not stay on so we froze all night. Very very old from the walls to drapery to furniture. Weird lighting as the light bulbs were yellow. Pricing was stramge as different prices online, on check in paperwork to signage.

8/10 Very good

The room we stayed in was dated, but clean. The bathroom is super tiny, but serves its purpose. It was quiet and uneventful, which I prefer. Staff was friendly, but hard to locate as they were not on sight, but showed up within minutes of calling.

Robbins Motel - no frills

The motel was strictly a no frills establishment. Sink hot and cold plumbed in reverse. Toilet had some kind of device attached that often set off an alarm upon flushing. It could be easily silenced, but was most disconcerting. Microwave available in office sufficient as a no frills place. Addition of the smallest available mini fridge in room would make a huge difference in step up from no frills to limited frills. Clean, but could use minor updates and still be basic accommodations. Free parking and outside the hub bub of Bar Harbor town center a plus. Very pleasant staff.

I really thought the room would be much bigger. No place to sit other than on the bed.

DO NOT STAY HERE!

Do not stay here!! The photos of this hotel do NOT match the photos on Hotels.com. We pulled up to this motel and thought we were in the wrong place. The property is run down, has a sagging roof and the rooms look terrible. After veiwing the property (no one was in the office so we drove around) and decided NOT to stay there and forfeited our payment it looked so bad. It's cheap for a reason - again the photos look nothing like the property. We called Hotels.com and they said they were unable to refund our payment even thought the property was not as advertised.

If you are a broke college student like me its ok. Next time, I'll be spending the extra 30 or so a night, not to stay here.

Lock was not working for the door.
Vikas, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

I didn't check when I booked, so it was technically my fault, but the room didn't have a fridge or microwave or a coffee maker for that matter. This is the room I stayed, I don't know if others had it. Also, the room that I stayed it's tiny, the bathroom felt like a airplane bathroom. I had to duck to take a shower since standing up, my head is above the shower head. Another complaint that I had is there's a table to the right of room and you don't have a single electrical outlet on that side, there's only two on the left side which I to share with a so I didn't even bother using my laptop since it's power hungry.
Jose, 4-night trip

A terrible experience at this hotel. It was dirty, unsafe, and way overpriced for what it was. The rooms were falling apart, and the whole place felt sketchy. I definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone, especially considering the misleading prices... Online is about twice as much as in-person.

The room was pretty stark but it was clean and we paid so much less than other hotels in the area.

It turns out they are right next to the Bar Harbor Lobster Pound (which is one of the main reasons we come to Maine). Nice folks in the office and the room was ok, bed was comfortable.

Stay was ok, staff nice & friendly. Room really dated but clean & bare bones for amenities. Good value for price. Great location for Arcadia park & Seafood Dining.

Despite other negative reviews, while the property was very worn out, it was clear that they made every effort to keep it clean. Easy check in and out, and right next to a terrific lobster pound/restaurant.
