Absolutely loved our stay here. The terrace French doors and the high ceilings made me feel like I a Victorian princess. I loved opening the doors and the patio doors for the view and for breeze. There are stairs to the property and you have to check in a bloc or two away so be prepared to walk but with the stairs came a ton of safety!!! Four locks to get through. Felt super safe here. I also loved how we were in the heart of Florence but from the back patio it was so quiet you didn’t hear any of the bustle. Concerned was super communicative the days leading up, answered any questions and got us checked in as soon as possible. Would def recommend!!!

Great location, I admit. Property itself is very difficult to be in. Top floor, no elevator, 5 metal keys to open 5 different locks. Avoid if you are not in the best shape of your life!

We almost got locked out and missed our train the day we left - the staff operate between 10am and? We were told to leave all our keys in the room when we checked out - but one of the iron doors was locked and we could not open it without a key. It was a terrifying experience. Also the common area (the yard was extremely unkept) and we saw tons of flies while trying to figure out how to get out of the place .... Never again!

Water was out for 2 days and the 2 days prior had only cold water. Restroom had mold around the shower and the floor. Property is large & beautiful though. High ceilings and great view. Very central to the Duomo.

Great location

This was a very cool old building in a perfect location- 4 minute walk to Duomo. It reminded us of staying in an old mansion. The rooms were large and the patio was great. The only negative I would say is that it is very sparse for such a beautiful building. Just adding a few more touches would make it seem perfect.

The shower was cold (we had a little bit of warm water for few seconds only) The instructions to the get there were not clear. We had to go to an other address to get the Keys and we were told about it at the last minute (we were already to the hotel and had to walk from there to get the keys )

5 (five) gates with keys to get into your room- endless steps to get to room makes this hard to recommend. The price was less expensive than others I stayed at and the location was excellent, however the lack of ammenties and ridiculous amount of keys and locks to go thru and the endless steps make it a 2 star at best. P.S. main door is very difficult to open as you have to slam into door with full force if your body to push it open.

Check-in and communication were great. The accommodations were spacious but the beds were very uncomfortable. We had some difficulties with windows not closing properly and mosquitoes in the room at night that bothered our children. No food was allowed in the room which limits your use of the space - provision of better coffee and more than one serving for multiple nights of stay would be appreciated. The shower leaked.

The only real upside to this place is its central location—if you're just looking for somewhere to sleep and don’t care much about comfort, it might work for you. But be prepared for several inconveniences. First, check-in is not at the building itself; it’s a few blocks away, which was not clearly communicated beforehand until you arrive. There’s no elevator, so if you have heavy luggage, you’ll be carrying it up multiple staircases. You’ll also need to juggle five different keys just to get to your room—yes, five. Once inside, the room smelled musty and moldy, and it looked nothing like the photos on Expedia. What was advertised as a bright, clean room was actually dark, dated, and worn. On top of that, there’s no housekeeping service during your stay, which made things feel even more neglected. This could be a last-resort option for someone on a tight budget who just wants a place to sleep near the center—but manage your expectations carefully.

Extremely loud. All night long. NO LUGGAGE STORAGE - despite the expedia ad stating it’s one of the perks. Ruined the trip having to find storage, lost my timed Uffizi ticket. Shower drain is slow, broken and shower easily overflowed into the bathroom. Temperature control in shower is poorly placed and easy to move by accident causing unexpected temperature change. Also, temp control of shower was erratic. Entry to room from street was exceptionally long and involved many stairs. No elevator available. No daily room service. Poorly lit inside room.

Bathroom was not properly clean upon arrival. Water leaked out when showering, making a big mess. Extremely loud area in the evening. We had no water for a few hours in the morning until we got a hold of someone to come fix it. The windows could use a mosquito net; I got bit many times. Unsafe, heavy metal gate with a piece sticking out hit my food and I almost broke my toe when it swung open. Incredibly, one of the rules is not to eat in the room even though there’s a fridge available. Absurd. The location is fantastic which is why we picked it but I’d stay somewhere else next time.
