We had an excellent stay. It’s an older, charming hotel, a block from Union Square and 4 blocks from Powell Street BART station. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. There’s free coffee in the lobby in the morning, a free glass of sherry in the evening, and a machine that dispenses free cold water (sparkling or still, flavored or plain) to fill your water bottle.

Location was good, elks lodge was nice, good food & cheap drinks. The first room we had the heater wouldn’t shut off so we had to sleep with the window open and a fan on to blow out the hot air.We moved to another room which wasn’t as nice but the heater was OK.

The hotel was fine but what I found outrageous is that they wanted to charge me $50 for early check in. I’ve stayed at many hotels and usually they just say we don’t have any room ready but if one is available we’ll text you and let you know.

Very old and quaint hotel. Great bed and sheets!!!! USB ports didn’t all work. Vaket returning car took an hour and there was an altercation right at desk with staff. Refund was minimal. Great location and normally okay place for eventing
