Huge busy hotel in great location

This is a huge, busy hotel in a great location, between Times Square and Central Park. They seem to manage the crowds effectively and it works as a good home base, close to multiple subway lines, restaurants, and other amenities. It is not elegant by any means but nothing is unacceptable about the accommodations either.

I am surprised that the overall rating average for this hotel isn't higher. Soent 3 days with my 8 year old nephew and it was perfect. Spacious room, comfy beds, and AC that kept us cool when it was 100 degrees outside. We especially liked the smoothie place just next door (you get a discount for staying at the hotel) and friendly staff. I have stayed in a dozen or more NYC hotels and this is now in my top 3.

I’ve booked at this hotel through Hotels.com before & directly through the hotel. In my experience, the rooms are much nicer with a better view when booked directly. For this price, our room should have been much nicer. Excellent location though.

Service made up for it

When we arrived for our stay, our original two bed room was not available. They did get us into a one king room for the evening, then we moved to a two bed the next day. Although it was an inconvenience, the service desk made up for it by waiving our resort/service fees and providing free breakfast and dinner with their sister hotel.
