It was originally built in the early 17th century as a country villa for Antoine de Paule, a knight of the Order of St. John. "Very helpful staff all round. Margaret took time to speak with us and made our 35th marriage anniversary special by sending us a surprise cake. The premises was great and cannot be faulted. While there was water failure which was no fault of the establishment and rain on that specific day, I still look beyond that and is objective with the overall service which we rate as excellent "

"We stayed in a sea view suite, plenty of space and fantastic views of the Grand Harbour entrance. The shower was excellent and the room cleaning was done to a great standard. Breakfast was well organised with plenty of choices of food. The bar area was always popular in the evening and live entertainment was available on some evenings. The spa was a great bonus although the steam room and jacuzzi were not as warm as I would have liked. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others. "
