"Only 30 min from the airport, up in the coffee covered hills above the very vibrant Alajuela neighborhood, is the best, not too expensive hotel in San Jose. Wonderful staff, beautiful grounds and gardens, nice food and a very relaxing setting. We really enjoy spending our last night, after puddle jumping and before getting on that big old jet liner, just decompressing in affordable luxury. Go there, you'll be glad you did."

"Casa del Río is a true gem in La Fortuna. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by nature — we saw birds and even monkeys during our stay. The rooms are spotless, spacious, and very comfortable, with lovely views that make you feel completely connected to the environment.
The staff truly make the experience exceptional: warm, attentive, and always willing to help with recommendations, tours, and transportation. Breakfast was delicious and fresh every morning, and the restaurant is excellent for both lunch and dinner.
The location is perfect — close enough to town and attractions, yet quiet and relaxing. If you’re looking for a boutique hotel with outstanding service, comfort, and a genuine Costa Rican feel, Casa del Río is the perfect choice. We can’t wait to return!"
