Obrestad Lighthouse overlooking the North Sea, was built in 1873, renovated in 1949 and automated 1991. In 950 Erik the Red, founder of the first Norse settlement in Greenland was born nearby. Erik the Red was also the father of the famous Viking explorer Leiv Erikson, who was the first European to set foot on the American mainland in 1003. Great place for a family picnic and sea side walking. Don't miss it if you are around these parts :)
