After visiting Seven Churches, make a plan to see the other sights and activities in Van. Stroll along the marina or visit the spas while you're in the area.
"Young man on reception spoke English and arranged day trip to Hakkari for me as the bus left from a Best Van office not the bus station though I did see an unmarked bus going to Hakkari from there. Buses leave at 09.00 and 12.00 in the morning plus a few other times to Dogubayazit(Mt Ararat) from the small bus station adjacent to the main bus station."
"Our first time in Van was made amazing by our stay at Roccia Downtown Hotel! Booked it and didn't regret it for a second. The location was perfect - on a side road of one of the main streets, so easy to get to restaurants and shops. Our room was super clean and well-kept, and the amenities were top-notch. Loved that we got 2 bottles of water and tea/coffee replenished daily. Breakfast was absolutely delicious - so much variety! The staff were super helpful, and special shoutout to Nurullah at the reception - he was EXCEPTIONAL! From day one, he helped us book tours, spa treatments, and taxis. Only negative was that the spa wasn't operational yet, but Nurullah's service made up for it. I'd DEFINITELY recommend Roccia Downtown Hotel to anyone visiting Van!

"What I enjoyed the most was the people. Melisa, Reha, Yusuf, Verat, Fatih all my made 5 night stay fun and personable. I did not want to rent a car so they helped me navigate the bus and dulmus to Akdamar Island and into the City Center. I also took an afternoon in the town of Edremet and enjoyed the harbour and shops. The people were amazing and fun - taught me about the local area and a little about Kurdish culture. The room was spacious, the water hot, the view nice of the Lake. The one thing that can be improved was the mattress was a little older and soft. I didn't make a request to change rooms though as I still got good sleep. There was noise from the traffic but the view of the lake made up for that. AC was comfortable but not too cold. The MADO restaurant was delicous, great people too. I loved VAN."
"Excellent staff and a very clean hotel. Mr. Sardar, a very respectful man, kindly helped us with our questions and needs. I highly recommend this hotel for family stays and will go back. "
