A perfect place for a weekend stroll through a park. The nearby historical museum has an in-character guide, who takes her job very serious. - There is lots to explain about Lota. The real place to remember from Lota is the Chiflon del Diabolo. This former operational undersea coalmine is now a national monument and it is open to the public. No need to have your Chilean up to date. "I came here for a business meeting. The location is great, right in the middle of downtown, so that part was super convenient. But honestly, the place needs maintenance. It doesn’t look very appealing, and the rooms aren’t soundproof at all — you can hear people talking in the next room. There’s also no ventilation, only heat, so the air gets pretty stuffy. The cleaning staff uses a really strong odor spray to cover that up, but it ends up being too much. For what they charge per night, there are definitely better options out there."
