Pairi Daiza is a big animal park, located on the site of the former Abbey of Cambron, where visitors make a trip along the 5 continents and discover more than 5,000 animals. In May 2018 Pairi Daiza received the prize for “Best animal park in Europe” at the presentation of the Diamond Theme Park Awards, also known as the Oscars of the theme parks and zoos. The photo shows Restaurant The Izba. Izba (изба) means in Russian: wooden house in the countryside. The Izba in Pairi Daiza is inspired by traditional Russian architecture, with its roof tiles and domes, which are also made entirely of wood! It is an immense restaurant (1.100 m² covered and a terrace of 400 m²) with a cosy atmosphere and the decoration refers to fairy tales and legends from Russian folklore.
