"Staying at Yavapai lodge was a good experience given its location within the national park and proximity to the visitor centre, village, and shuttle stop. But keep in mind that is ALL you are paying for. I don’t expect pools and continental breakfast at a national park hotel for the price you pay to stay here, but I do expect fair service and cleanliness. The shower was mouldy, bathroom sink was not clean and had hair in it upon our arrival, and the carpets were quite dirty, but at least the bed was clean! Upon our arrival, there was nobody checking in and two staff members working the front till, but one of them was unfriendly and adamant that we use the self check-in kiosk, despite me mentioning it was not working with our Canadian ID. House keeping was good and the tavern/dining hall had plenty of food options and was very convenient. If you can spare the couple hundred bucks extra per night and need a clean place to feel comfortable I’d look at one of the other options in the park, but the Yavapai lodge definitely gets the job done and is better than staying outside of the park!"
